Self-exclusion is a free program available for persons who wish to voluntarily exclude themselves from entering gaming rooms and from playing gaming machines at nominated hotels and clubs.
Persons subject to a Deed of Self-exclusion authorise management of nominated venues to take any reasonable steps to prevent access to restricted gaming areas and playing gaming machines.

Important information for gaming venues
From 1st June 2009 the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation (VCGR) requires all gaming venues to subscribe to a VCGR approved Self-exclusion program.
The Australian Hotels Association-Victoria (AHA-Vic) Self-exclusion Program was approved by the VCGR on 31 March 2009. www.vcgr.vic.gov.au
Only gaming venues who have made arrangements with AHA (Vic) to participate in the AHA (Vic) Self-exclusion program will be able to utilise the program after 1 June 2009. Club gaming venues and gaming hotels that are non-members of AHA (Vic), and who have not registered with VCGR as subscribers to AHA (Vic) Self-exclusion program by 1June 2009, will be advised that their participation has lapsed and they should either enlist or seek alternative programs.
