A number of costs have increased in recent times, some significantly, adding to the total operating cost of pub and hotel businesses.
Having regard to increases in such costs including the increase in the excise on alcoholic beverages from 1 August 2018, AHA (Vic) is of the view that the following prices are warranted with the intention of recovering cost increases and maintaining margins:
POTS (285ml) – full strength beer increase by 10 cents to $5.70
POTS (285ml) – light strength beer increase by 10 cents to $5.50
Members are reminded to review your own calculations in light of the above to ensure that existing margins are maintained. You may wish to have regard to various wholesale prices including imported beverages and the volume of the vessel in which products are sold.
It is important that members regularly review prices including food, beverages and other products and services provided through your business.
Members are reminded that they must set their prices independently of any competitor in order to comply with relevant Legislation and that the above is merely a guide.
