Oz Skills Careers College understand that it is integral to make training content specific to your pub to meet your specific needs and expectations, there are no generic training plans. Oz Skills trainers then familiarise themselves with your pub to ensure that your business processes are integrated through the training program.
Oz Skills have engaged a hospitality professional who has 25 plus year’s experience across many facets of the Hospitality Industry. They are a qualified trainer and assessor, a current AHA (Vic) member and still working in the industry. This means all content delivered in the program is recent and relevant information.
Oz Skills are planning on commencing their first Certificate IV in Hospitality in February 2025, with sessions running every three weeks for three-hour workshops at an AHA (Vic) member pub. A minimum of five participants with a maximum of ten participants will be required.

Alicia Mcleay: Industry Trainer
Over the last 20+ years, I’ve seen it all in hospitality. I’ve cooked, served, and met an amazing group of colleagues and friends from working in late night cocktail bars and fine dining restaurants to owning multiple venues and even a food truck.
I’ve also had the opportunity to work at every major event in Melbourne from the Australian Open to the MotoGP, from catering for 10 people to 10 thousand
Places that have made me who I am:
- RACV Club, de Oliveira’s, La Luna, Polly, The Mecca Group, Metropolitan Hotel , Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, The Press Club, Biggie Smalls and my favourite, Maha
- Duty Manager at Teller in Brunswick East (Winner of AHA (Vic) Best Casual Dining Metropolitan 2024, Winner of AHA (Vic) Best Non Alcoholic Beverage Menu 2023)

“JBS Hospitality has been working closely with Oz Skills Careers College over the past 8 years to facilitate our traineeship program across our 10 venues with more than 450 staff across Melbourne.
They continually provide professional yet personal service, they go above and beyond to meet our needs by working closely with our management team and building successful relations with our staff.
Oz Skills Careers College are always looking at innovative ways to maximise our existing training programs through accessing government funding to support our training costs.
I would highly recommend Oz Skills Careers College to any fellow Hospitality businesses, as it wouldn’t have been possible without them to develop a beneficial training program across our venues.”
Adam Smith Testimonial – General Manager The Albion Rooftop and Bar and The Precinct Hotel
“Our partnership with Oz Skills began at The Precinct Hotel in 2014 and expanded to The Albion Rooftop & Club once opened in 2019.
We identified through both employee requests and skill shortages that there was a need to provide further hospitality specific on the job training.
The ability for Oz skills to tailor this to our individual venues and relate this content to the on the job challenges and situations our staff would face on a daily basis was invaluable.
Delivered by hospitality professionals these courses helped nurture and develop key skills that led to improved employee performance and also greater job satisfaction.
I would highly recommend Oz Skills for any business considering implementing further development and training programs.”
David Harrison – 2024 Oz Skills Career College Student – JBS Hospitality
“I have worked with Lynsey and the OZ skills team over the past few years to complete both my Certificate III and IV in Hospitality, I have found both courses have helped me immensely in my knowledge and development as a hospitality leader.
My trainers were all working in the hospitality industry which made them very relatable and interesting as they had the most recent industry knowledge and experience, they also tailored the content of the lessons to JBS Hospitality which made it very easy to engage with and relate to.
Lynsey and the team were extremely flexible with the scheduling of the lessons and always were mindful of my position and workload, all the lessons were always done in a JBS venue that worked for me.”
